Whether its channelling your inner 90s child with iron-on patches or going for a more tribal vibe like my favourite black jeans, its definitely a trend that'll stay around for a while...
Patches and prints have been coming in hot on the runway this season. Have you seen Gucci at Milano Fashion Week? (Recap here). I personally prefer a more subtle approach like these beautiful French Connection jeans.
Me being me though, I don't do anything like a normal person. Instead of going along with a floral theme of denim decorations, I gravitated towards this tribal themed embroidery. So simple and yet, every-SINGLE-time I have worn these jeans I have gotten endless compliments - without fail.
This trend is not only for the stylish, or shopaholics looking for another reason for shop (like me), but also for the DIY junkies! If you know how to embroider or just sew, this makes for a great little project on some old jeans. Nothing makes more of a statement with your own personalised denim - no one will ever have the same designs.
You can also add a little 90s grunge with iron-on patches to add more personality to your favourite jeans, jacket or even shorts. Try some patches from The Factorie (browse them here) or your local sewing shop.
The jeans being the star of the show, I decided to wear the 2nd most popular summer trend right now: off the shoulder top. Mix the two together and you have a recipe for trendy success.
